Joel Klebanoff: Stuff & Nonsense

To worry is to be. To be is to worry.

The Science of Excercise

I know nothing about the science of exercise. The whole physiology of workouts and the resulting health effects totally baffles me.

Maybe someone out there in Internet Land can help me out.

After a vigorous workout at the gym is one supposed to struggle to survive the short walk home and then feel like literally passing out when he does get back? If so, my workout today was incredibly effective.

  1. Sigh.

    I need to exercise.

    I hate it.

I like three types of exercise. I like to play volleyball but can’t with my knees. I like martial arts and swimming, but need special facilities and time I just don’t have.

    Everything else is torture.

    • I can’t understand anyone who doesn’t find exercise to be tortuous. I occasionally do it in the, likely false, hope that it might extend my healthy life by at least ten minutes, while shortening the amount of time that I’m unhealthy while I’m alive by at least as long.
